Healthlight Patient Applications
Healthlight Lower Extemity Applications. Our boot pad can fold over like a "boot" or be extended in a full length flat configuration. We will be adding more images shortly.
The Healthlight Infrared System is an FDA approved light emitting device with monochromatic infrared AND visible therapeutic light emitting diodes. These diodes are rated at an 880nm wavelength with a large surface coverage of the patient's extremity during treatment. Each infrared diode emits approximately 100 milliwatts of energy.
Healthlight™ works by having a number of infrared and visible light emitting diodes on flexible neoprene pads that can be applied directly to the skin on any body part. The monochromatic near infrared and visible light energy from these pads stimulate the hemoglobin in the blood to release Nitric Oxide (NO). Nitric Oxide in our blood stream causes several mechanisms that initiate healing. (See Article on Diabetes and Nitric Oxide)
Healthlight™ Infrared Therapy is not only for neuropathy patients and diabetics. It is widely used on patients who have tendonitis, fibromyalgia, chronic muscle pain, pressure sores, fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis. Infrared Therapy cannot be performed on women who are pregnant or patient’s with a malignant cancer or tumor.
Light Emitting Designs, Inc. who manufacturer's the Healthlight and other brands, has over 20 years of experience, and well over a thousand patient and professional users experiencing accelerated pain relief and wound healing. Infrared Therapy devices have been used with varying degrees of success to help millions of diabetics as well as others who suffer from neuropathy (nerve disorder), diabetic, venous, and pressure ulcers around the world for many years. The painless, noninvasive delivery of infrared light energy has provided relief for many patients without the use of medications such as Lyrica, Neurontin, Cymbalta and others.
